Hi, I’m Natasha.

Ooh, look at me welcoming you to my creative blog, where I will introduce you to all the fun, creative and crazy things I get up to.

I am a wife and a mother to my 3 children and 2 dogs, so you can imagine how chaotic it can get in our house.

“Ooh, look at me!” is an ironic name because I actually don’t like drawing attention to myself or my family, yet I really like inspiring others to be creative because I know how fulfilling it can be. The name also comes from something silly we used to say years ago and it kind of just stuck with me.

Check out our About Us page for more information about us and what we do.

I hope this brings you creative joy

Let’s get yarning and creative!

Crochet Pineapple Bath Mat by Kayleigh

After making two different cowls I decided to create something a bit different. I used the pattern by Emma Friedlander-Collins. I have never followed a tapestry pattern before but it was actually very enjoyable. It used double crochet and I changed some of the colours to make it more my style. Rather than using it as a bath mat, I am using it as a rug on my bedroom floor.

This turned out really good and it didn’t take long to do. I would recommend you put a mark on each square as you do it so you don’t get confused with what you have already counted.

I had to buy an extra ball to complete it because I didn’t fasten off every few stitches like the pattern suggests. But the pattern should only require three balls. I really enjoyed using this yarn. It’s kind of like a really long shoelace. It was fun and different. Although, it was slightly more expensive than what I would normally use. It was definitely worth it and I would use it again.

I hope to make a small basket of some kind with the left over yarn from this project.

Yarn

Hoooked Ribbon XL (shade - Sweet Pink, Bubblegum Pink and Frosted Yellow).

(Each colour)1 x 250g (8.8oz/131yds/120m) ball.

Weight category: UK Super Chunky [US 6/Super Bulky/Super Chunky/14-ply].

Tension/gauge: Size 8mm/UK 0 [US L/11] - 10mm/UK 000 [USN/15] hook.

The crochet hook I used was a 12mm.

I would give the Hoooked Ribbon yarn a 3 out of 5 for the following reasons:-

- It was easy to work and worked up quickly;

- There is a large choice of colours available;

- The feel of it was quite soft;

- The cost of yarn is expensive - I paid about £5.95 per 250g ball, but it is usually about £8.50;

- Would I use this yarn again? YES.

May all your crafting wishes come true...

Kayleigh

P.S. I hope you had an amazing 2016 and will continue this creative journey with us for many years to come. Hopefully we will all grow and continue to pursue our individuality and imagination
